M16 - The Eagle nebula
M16 is nebula that has the form of an Eagle with its wings spread. It is located in the constellation of Serpens is roughly 7000 light years from earth. This object was photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope and a section of the nebula was referred to as "the pillars of creation". This is in the center of the nebula and is where stars are being formed from the gases in the nebula.
This image was taken using a 6-inch F5 reflector and a modified Canon T3i set at ISO 800. The resultant image is a stack of six five-minute exposures.
