M83
M83 is a barred spiral galaxy about 15 million light years from earth. It is found in the constellation of Hydra but is very low on the horizon for northern latitude observers. This photograph was taken using a modified Canon T3i set at ISO 800 and a six-inch F-5 reflector. The resultant image is a stack of five five-minute exposures:
